Other Details to Note

Accessibility and Availability

Neighborhood

The Grand Hill neighborhood of St Paul is one of the most picturesque and walkable of any neighborhood, and Summit Avenue is renowned nationally as the longest stretch of Victorian area homes in the country. Neighbors wave from front porches and drink wine together on front lawns, kids run barefoot and ride Bigwheels together down the sidewalk; it's the friendliest neighborhood we've ever found! You can walk to multiple coffee shops, restaurants, bars, dry cleaning, and shopping, yet are just 5 minutes from downtown St Paul and 15 minutes to downtown Minneapolis. The fireflies on the lawns in summertime are magical!

Guest Access

The whole house, from main floor spaces to the top of the turret are yours to explore! The primary/master bedroom, and the other queen bedroom at the front of the second floor tend to be a bit brighter, and encourage early rising for those without sleep masks, while all the rest of the bedrooms are quite dark. Please note the primary bathroom suite's shower is shared by another bathroom - some coordination may be required within your party.

We had a fantastic stay at the Gatsby Getaway when we visited town for a wedding, using the house as a base for our family to meet and gather. It was perfect for this purpose being in a fantastic Saint Paul location on summit hill, in a quiet location with stunning views. Linda was extremely accommodating, flexible and responsive, and the property was incredibly well equipped further to having impressive period features and historical importance. It really is a jewel of St Paul, and we are already discussing a return visit.

Snow falling. Picturesque scenery. Beautiful. Quiet. I ran out of salt when I was cooking, and the host walked over to give me salt. The property is amazing. The hosts top notch. I am already planning my return. Thank you, again! πŸ™ŒπŸŽ‰πŸ₯³πŸ™

We call it the Fitz House, and it’s become one of our favorite places to stay. The rooms are large, comfortable, and give you plenty of space to spread out. The downstairs area has more than enough room to work or study, which makes it especially convenient for Mitchell Hamline law students. The location is close to campus, and the setup works really well if you want to split the cost with classmates for a longer stay. Always a great experience.

The interesting history of the house, interesting architectural features, and comfortable furnishings added to our family gathering. Multiple public rooms provided opportunities for informal gatherings. Kitchen and dining facilities supported group gatherings. Great communication with owner who shared the history of the house. We will likely use it again.

This house is beautifully renovated and decorated. It was a perfect place to hold our small team's annual planning retreat. The many gathering spaces allowed us to move around and change locations throughout the day. Linda was a great host-very responsive and helpful.
